LOW SWISS MORTGAGE RATES

Swiss home buyers have never had it so good, at least when it comes to mortgages.

Interest rates remain at rock-bottom levels and there is no sign - yet - of them rising. A report released on Tuesday by Comparis.ch, the Swiss consumer rating agency, showed that average mortgage rates, already quite cheap, fell even lower in the second quarter of 2010 from the previous three-month period.

The agency’s “barometer” of rates revealed that average mortgages in April, May and June were 2.3 percent for the benchmark fixed five-year term, compared with 2.5 percent in the first quarter. This is half the 4.6 percent average in 2008, before the global financial crisis hit. Rates for fixed 10-year terms dropped in the second quarter to 3.1 percent from 3.3 percent.

SWITZERLAND MOST ATTRACTIVE LOCATION

The new Mobile Wealthy Residence Index found that Switzerland is the most attractive location to live for the international wealthy, beating London and Singapore (Scorpio Partnership) .

Its appeal is due to its overall ‘rounded offer’. London was marked down due to recent tax increases for the wealthy and Singapore is expected to rise as a destination for the mobile wealthy. The index was constructed using 11 criteria including economic and political stability, legal considerations, education for children, proximity and culture.

NEW SNOW CANONS - VILLARS - GRYON

WINTER SEASON 2010/2011

A new 8 km network of snow canons will guarantee the link between Villars and Gryon and also the home run from Bretaye, down past Col du Sud, under the tunnel and to the bottom of the Villars telecabine.

Construction work began in spring 2010 and has involved the installation of 85 jets and the creation of a resevoir at Les Chaux to supply water to the system.

BCV 24H Villars

This year on 15 & 16 January 2011, SWISSLANDGROUP has entered a team to participate in the Villars BCV 24H ski race.

Open to all skiers and snowboarders, the Villars BCV 24H invites everyone to take off for an unforgettable experience. Almost a thousand athletes will take turns for 24 hours to ski or snowboard a maximum distance, day and night on the slopes of Villars.
Designed as both a sporting challenge and competition of the heart to accomplish together, the event focuses on sportsmanship and teamwork.
